Our Services

Dr. Ritchie is a specialist in spinal musculoskeletal disorders. He is expertly trained and has over 30 years of practice to diagnose and treat the many musculoskeletal conditions and injuries that occur on the job or in your daily life.

Upon injury or strain, normal position and flexibility of spinal vertebrae are altered or damaged. Chiropractic manipulation or “adjustments” are designed to restore normal alignment and movement, and relieve stress upon spinal nerves thus reducing pain and promoting healing and health. Dr. Ritchie will also provide guidance with advice designed to reduce work related injuries, proper lifting procedures and therapeutic stretching. This philosophy of care produces a thorough plan of care for rapid return of your health.

We also have special services for your unique needs:

Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression is a computer controlled highly specialized traction procedure to “decompress” discs and nerves in the spine. The Chattanooga Triton DTS is a state-of-the-art device. Disc herniation and bulges, sciatica and leg pain disorders that are unresponsive to the typical medical procedures may change dramatically with this unique treatment. Thousands of patients have undergone this procedure and we have an 80+ percent success rate. Call us today to see if you are a candidate for this amazing procedure.

Cold Laser

What lasers do!

Lasers are fancy lights that produce monochromatic (single color), coherent (lined up) photons (energy particles) delivering energy of a specific amount to cells. There are specific effects that have been measured and recorded in many studies. Some of these effects include:

Energization of Depleted Enzymes. Due to the wavelength, low level lasers can force photons deep into tissues where enzymes that are naturally produced are “re-energized” to do their work more efficiently as well as increasing their overall number and availability. These then stimulate or enhance tissue repair and healing.

Vascular Effects. Evidence demonstrates that laser energy is capable of initiating new blood vessel formation (angiogenesis), which is a key factor in the tissue repair and regeneration process.

Cellular Energization. Cells demonstrate accumulation of energy molecules in the form of ATP which increases a cells ability to regenerate and heal as well as function optimally.

The overall effect of low level laser is that it reduces inflammation, accelerates healing, and improves tissue remodeling after injury. In addition, increased plasma concentrations of prostaglandins, enkephalins, and endorphins (important naturally produced substances that cause our cells to heal and reduce pain) have all been shown to increase in tissues where lasers have been used.

What can we treat with lasers?

The following is a partial list of conditions that have shown promising results with laser.

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Acute/chronic TMJ dysfunction
  • Paresthesias and Neuralgias
  • Cervical/lumbar spine syndromes
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Arthritis/arthrosis
  • Wound healing
  • Bursitis, tendonitis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Nerve regeneration
  • Wound healing

Lasers are a new and valuable tool in the treatment of conditions that previously had few care options. Because “its only light” it is safe, non-invasive and should always be considered as a treatment option.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial Release Therapy is a unique muscle stretching procedure that reduces or eliminates scar tissue and deep inflammation in muscles that have been injured or damaged from overuse or trauma. Rotator cuff syndrome, frozen shoulder syndrome, hip joint limitations and pain all respond extremely well to this treatment. It is difficult and sometimes painful to endure but the results are worth the effort. Many men and women with chronic shoulder problems now can move freely and without pain because of this aggressive procedure.

On-site X-ray Services

On-site X-ray Services are available to help diagnose your condition quickly and conveniently.

Dr. Ritchie will take the necessary x-rays and develop them while you are in the office. He will read these films and give you a report on the findings of these films the same day so that you can begin your recovery immediately.

These services are available to you with just a simple call to our office. Dr. Ritchie is ready to help you regain your health and life. Contact us for your appointment!
